Plays and Drives Sheet

Scoresheet

Page 1 of the scoresheet includes some features not found on the standard scoresheet that comes with the game. In particular, the upper left-hand corner includes a space where you can keep track of which plays a team runs during a game. If you're playing solitaire, these would be the plays the offense for the team indicated on the sheet runs, but you can use the scoresheet for paying head-to-head and for keeping track of the plays your opponent runs, which can help you with your guess. Whenever a play is run simply check off the box or fill in the yardage gained or lost. When playing solitaire, when all of the boxes are filled in for a play on a particular side, if the offense runs that play again, add 1 to the die roll for the defense's guess. This will help to keep you honest so that you don't overuse a particular play or take advantage of an opponent's weaknesses too often.

In addition, the rushing and receiving tracks include numbered headings in reverse white-on-black lettering to help keep you honest so that you don't overuse a particular player. You can keep track of both incomplete and complete passes (targets) thrown to various receivers, and if a receiver has been targeted eight times, add 1 to the defense's guess roll; if the receiver has been targeted sixteen times, add 2 to the defense's guess roll. Likewise, if a particular running back has rushed eighteen times, add 1 to the defense's guess roll.

Page 2 of the scoresheet includes diagrams for the offensive run block ratings versus defensive ratings for individual players. This will help you to scout out weaknesses before the game and during the game, after players start getting injured. The scoresheet also includes charts for pre-figuring pass block versus pass rush ratings, which can speed things up for you during the game.

Plays and Drives Sheet

The plays and drives sheet helps you to keep track of who has possession of the ball (Poss.), the quarter (Q), drive number (Dr), time on the clock (Clock), down (Dn), distance (Di), territory on the field (Ter.), yard line (YL), play called and player involved (Play and Player), yardage gained or lost (+/-), whether a first down was achieved on the play (1D), notes about pass rushes, injuries, penalties, and other miscellany (Notes), and whether the particular play was a game-changer (!).
