1956 New York Giants slip past 1956 San Francisco 49ers in Strat-O-Matic Pro Football Replay

A match-up between the 1956 New York Giants and the 1956 San Francisco 49ers was a closer game than you might expect. Both sides had strong rushing backfields, but the Giants came out on top, possibly due to the fact San Francisco HB John Henry Johnson went down with an injury early on, which forced San Francisco to abandon the T Formation (Full House) for the Pro Set. The 49ers did offer some exciting moments in the air game, but it just wasn't Tittle's day. The Giants were expected to walk all over the 49ers, but early on it looked like the game belonged to San Francisco.
